The Benefits Of Underfloor Heating
Have you considered installing underfloor heating in your renovation, but thought it was too expensive to install and costly to run? I am guilty of having some preconceived ideas about underfloor heating. That is why I invited Luke Chant from Hotwire Heating to chat to me about the ins and outs of underfloor heating.
He talked me through what underfloor heating actually is; how much it costs to install; and the actual running costs to heat your home. He raved about underfloor heating creating a nice gentle warmth that heats the whole room. He said:
As long as your house is well insulated, and well put together, then floor heating will heat the room quite nicely.
Installing underfloor heating in your bathroom comes with some great benefits:
You don’t have to clean your bathroom as often because it’s not [going to get] mouldy. There’s none of that residue left over from water in the room. So you’re getting a nice warm bathroom, but you’re also getting a clean, healthier bathroom.
If you are concerned about the safety of underfloor heating in your home, Luke put those fears to rest. They have systems built in during installation to detect damage to the wires. If the wire somehow gets damaged after a successful installation, they have a high-tech way of detecting the fault so that it can be repaired with minimal fuss.
I learnt a lot from my chat with Luke. Click play if you are interested in learning more about underfloor heating.
